Something amazing
the power of the scriptures
speaking to us
each time we encounter
reading the words of power

Love on these pages
speaking to us, if we would listen,
something we need to hear
to change our lives
to add balm to our fears
to steel us from temptation
to let us know God is near

Hope in the message
grace in his blessing
his sacrifice so long ago
bringing us back to God
redeemed in an instant
yet struggling to be faithful
walking with God our whole lives
comfort in these words
of grace and forgiveness
love overflowing
salvation for us
even when
we stumble on the path

The message of creation
of the creator
the law and the prophets
the coming of Christ
the living church
growing and spreading
words across the ages
speaking with love

Lessons for our time
our work as his servants
children of God rejoicing
singing songs of praise
offering up our worship
our lives to him
submitting as Christ did
humbly to God’s plan

messages for each human heart
words alive, relevant
to our lives each day

In the stories and the law
in the words of God
revealing how to live
seeking him in wonder and awe

No part of us hidden
searing in its truth
bringing us closer if we believe
healing us from within.
