Through the eyes of a believer
someone righteous before God
and yet still struggling
to understand pain in the world
Through the eyes of Job
hearing the words of his companions
his replies crying from his heart
wanting to confront God
Learning lessons for our lives
in the wisdom in the dialogue
able to come before God with questions
but needing to be mindful
of our station compared to him
Though we cannot fully comprehend
the distance of man from God
Job gives us a boundary
that we never should cross
Through the eyes of the faithful
trying to understand the world
the injustice and trials
yet also counting on God
