The power of the statement
the others, not the believers
gathered in that place
the seat of Jewish power
that power base
What they heard
on that first Pentecost
the words of the Christ
in their native language
all of us hearing them speaking
in words we could follow
changing the world forever
starting as Christ promised
starting in Jerusalem
