The flames of Pentecost
the coming of the Holy Spirit
not as a dove
landing on Jesus

We need much more
to lift our feet of clay
a spirit of power
to lift us from our seat
to send us into the word
the message to speak

To sow seeds of love
to offer all the Christ
the healing of His life
the saving of His sacrifice

None of us need fear death
he has already paid the price
we must go in love
to lift our neighbors up
that they would know of his grace
God’s healing through the Son
being ever salt of the earth
of beacon of God’s love
