Into the Fist of the Madman - Poem by Raymond A. Foss

The world allowing
the people seeking freedom
given over
abandoned
into the fist
of the madman

Hope not yet extinguished
as the people fight for freedom
a million strong in Benghazi
still needing our assistance

Time is now
the window not yet closed
but the brutality of revenge
will surely come

If we ignore the people
turn a blind eye on the martyrs
where we said he should be overthrown
we must act on our convictions

Any action is a start
do more than speak
words just a spark
but may they burn with freedom

Acting on convictions
stopping the dictator
history will judge us
by this very moment

calling on President Obama and the world
to speak out and act in the Middle East
to stand with the people
yearning to breathe free
and not worrying about the results,
that it is always right to stand for basic human rights
&
on the transformations since the beginning of January -
all the protests in Egypt, Yemen, Bahrain, Tunisia, Algeria, Libya, Oman,
Jordan, Iran, Iraq, Palestinian Territories, Djibouti, Mauritania, Senegal, Saudi Arabia, etc.
