Like Moses on the mountaintop
his face made bright
Christ on the mountaintop
made whiter than white

Prepared for the journey
to Jerusalem
leading to betrayal
the way to the cross

Christ made ready
imbued with God’s love
like the moment in the river
touched by the dove

Made ready for the journey
submitting to God’s will
drinking the cup of sorrow
that we may truly live
