The question hanging
like the Sword of Damocles
offered up
that we would hear
the message for us
in the familiar text
would we hear
the message yet

“Are our worries worth
what we invest in them?”
Are they really worth
what they cost us?
Do we realize
what we are worth
do we understand
our Savior’s rebirth?

Focused on worry
the stuff of this earth
losing our joy
within our hearts
not seeing God’s grace
his love for all man
revealed on the cross
and in his rising again
