The two of them motionless
Christ coming to John
the exchange of their words
the power right there

Were the people even aware
did they hear their conversation
did they hear the voice of God
did they see the descending of the dove

What a wondrous moment
when Christ was baptized
submitting to the water
rising to be commissioned
to go into the world
