In His Holy Presence - Poem by Raymond A. Foss

Rushing from our watching
in the fields by night
watching over the sheep
on the mountainside

Going quickly, rushing
to Bethlehem
coming to the Christ-child
the one who was foretold

The angel’s words fulfilled
in the babe in the manger
the Holy One of Heaven
descended to the earth

Basking in his holy presence
sensing the enormity
God’s love raining down
healing the whole earth

Not wanting to go
but knowing that we must
sharing the hope in Jesus
to all that we would meet

The truth of the promise of God
the coming of our Savior
the angel’s words coming true
in the birth, the baby
in the manger
