Knowing He Was Lost - Poem by Raymond A. Foss

Silence of despair
Knowing he was lost
in that instant
before Christ
that he could not follow
the way of our Master
our Savior, our Lord.

That his possessions held him
unable to go
things of this earth
separating him, ever
separating him from You
unable to follow
when You called him by name.
