The wise men from the east
following the star
looking for the savior
the one who was foretold

Confirmed by the sages
the scholars of the Word
unfolding as had been prophesied
by the prophets of old

The people sacred, troubled
the king on edge
wondering what the birth would mean
would the crown be taken from his head

Would the Christ-child
the Messiah come to earth
would he rule in Jerusalem
the King upon the throne
