Layer upon layer
heavy, crushing
Christ putting on the fabric of sin
for His walk on the earth

Turning in the purple
the color of royalty
wrapping himself in crimson
the blood of the sacrifice

Going by His choosing
humble to God’s calling
giving up human life
to fulfill all prophecy
