A moment unlike any other
this moment in their life
at the moment the bread was broken
seeing Christ before them
in a way that was new

The risen Lord with them
having walked the seven miles
but only in the breaking of the bread
were they able to see
to comprehend his presence
in the simple meal

We share the one bread
we drink from the same cup
the cup of salvation offered to us
in the breaking of the bread
the lifting of the cup
the same cup offered to us
take it, drink it up
