The offering of God
in the words of the prophet
that they would be washed clean
redeemed in his sight

The same, or more so,
for us in this time
only to believe, redeemed
by the blood of the lamb

Yet, in our stupidity
the same now as then
refusing to accept God’s grace
a horrible price in the end.
