If we are like the rich fool
gathering up our possessions
making bigger barns
to store them away
we are hording our blessings
the gifts from our creator
forgetting that our path is service
proclaiming the good news
that we are to love our neighbors
bringing the message to them
of the love of God
how can we do this
if we are withholding our best gifts
if we horde them away
and hide them from view
like the light
they should be up on the lampstand
life the gleaning of the fields
they should be given away
that none would be hungry
all would be healed
all would be redeemed
by the grace of our king
by the blood of the lamb
