Taking them to heart
the words of the savior
writing them on our lives
attentive to his teaching
focused on his life
saving us, standing
on the rock of Christ

July 12, 2010
concurrently, as I was starting to write the following poem,
I had come up with title “Heeding His Words”
------
Obeying His Words

Christ clear on our living
to live faithfully
grounded on him alone
our foundation on the rock

Hearing his words
obeying his words
in this is our assurance
standing on the rock of Christ
when the storms of life come

Able, through him,
protected against the winds
the floodwaters raging
but we shall not be moved
