The metaphor of the yoke
hard to comprehend
even to conform our steps
to the path of Christ
Maybe in the metaphor
of the American car
putting the top down
and letting God drive
Into the passenger seat
sitting next to him
trusting where we’d go
no map in our hands
No accelerator,
no brake shoe
sitting dependent
going where he commands
