In each word of prayer
coming humbly before God
new because of the death of the Christ
rising to glory with him
Each of us redeemed
because of the lamb
washed by his precious blood
No longer am I shackled with my past
my sin all washed away
reminded of your forgiveness
each time I pray
thankful for your amazing grace

“Loving God, hold not our sins against us; but
hold us up against our sins; so that in you we are
reminded, not of our sin, but of your forgiveness,
not just of what we are but what we might become.”

“Father in Heaven! Hold not our sins up against us but
hold us up against our sins so that the thought of You
when it wakens in our soul, and each time it wakens,
should not remind us of what we have committed but
of what You did forgive, not of how we went astray
but of how You did save us!”
