A sin offering,
refined in the fire
such was the bitter cup
the cup of our sin
that passed over his lips
the cup our savior
did not want to drink
But drink this he did
the bitterness of our stain
the offering he would give
climbing the steps that led to the cross
the offering for our sin
Christ took on the weight of the world
the price of sin for all time
the priest sacrificing himself
the holy lamb of God
sacrificed on the altar of the cross
for our sin, that we could live again

Matthew 26:39
“And he went a little further, and fell on his face,
and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible,
let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will,
but as thou wilt”. (KJV)
