In gathering, solemn
remembering the fateful night
when the covenant was shared
when he washed the disciples’ feet

Mindful of his choosing
in the reverence also joy
Christ did this for us
going to the cross

As a servant offering
washing each of our feet
by his blood we are made clean
by his rising made complete
