The light of the morning
so fast and changing
the sky lit up, brilliant
dancing before my eyes
Gossamer yellows, oranges
daubed colors, though fleeting
infusing the clouds
painting the lashes
dripping with radiance
shimmering light
Too soon moving,
the sun, the clouds
the sky changing
washed away in an instant
the canvas in darker hues
March 2, 2010
Main Street,
Suncook, NH
between 6:20 and 6:45am
between waking my daughters up and feeding them,
to see this out my office window. I just knew I needed
to take a picture. Then I went back after they were fed,
minutes later, and saw how the sun had moved just
enough to the left of the shot and behind more clouds,
losing some of the brilliance. Amazing how fleeting
these moments are and how often we miss them all together.
