There was calm within the storm
inside the ark
the animals and people too
given a chance to survive the flood
by the loving hand of God

In the rainbow, a covenant made
given alone by the Lord
that he would never flood the earth
by water he would never destroy

A promise to all of creation
all who came after them
down to the present age
to the end of the world
whatever may come
his steadfast love revealed
