The sounds all muffled
under our hoods and hats
cutting through, the distinctive noise
hearing the greasy snow

The pavement covered
by a film of new-fallen white
the cars, trucks sliding
a certain common sound

The tires not quite gripping
sliding on the move
turning the corner not so precise
as we stand at the school
