Presumptuous
that being made in the image
that being like God
makes us God
like the creator, unbound,
like the limitless God

Such is the meaning
the power, the authority
claimed by man
in the reading of our story
the creation, the origin
the beginning of time

How much lower
is the stuff of man
made by the hand of God
breathed into life
the spirit of God
giving life
to man made of clay
