our clay, ever open
ever wet, able to be changed
transformed by the creator
the potter, our master
even after we have been fired
baked hard in the kiln, the crucible
the trials of our lives
our wayward paths
able still to be gathered up
even broken shards
made malleable once more
able to be shaped by the potter
made whole, worthy once more
by his loving hands
