The prodigal, all of us
a lesson for our times
in this day and age,
a chastening in the telling
the grafting of the branches
the story of the son
asking for his wealth
squandering in excess
coming home a servant
destitute, but welcomed in
the arms of the father
ready for our turning
for our quickening heart
coming home to the Lord
