So alone, if we ever really believe ourselves to be self-made men, outside of history, outside of the community of faith, no saints to praise, to remember as if we were islands, able to exist seemingly as if we were the big bang, the creation, coming into being without assistance How much happier, comforted knowing the savior, the saints gone before living as part of a larger whole, the body worshipping, sharing the cup, remembrance of the long line that journeyed this road before
