Each one, in a new school,
different, in this new town
a dry run, run through,
checking out the place
meeting teachers, staff,
getting a feel, finding their way
walking, stepping ahead
into tomorrow’s future a day early
a bit more prepared, at ease
for the coming year

August 26, 2008
tours and orientations for me
(and the three girls) today.
School starts tomorrow
