on him, his needs
so were their hearts
as I talked of options
ways to serve his needs,
the whole family’s
Whether to fight the decisions
the injustice, or wait
allow him to heal
in a safer place.
To choose to lay down our banner
let the fields of battle grow fallow,
by focusing on him first
