sent into a foreign land
using a foreign people
to chasten, to refine
His people for their
lack of faith,
their turning away
from the God of their ancestors
who saved them
watched over them
ready for a loving union
if they would follow the law
founded on love,
on loyalty, trust
in the Creator
the Father, God
