Into the Potter’s House by Raymond A. Foss
Walking into the house
of the skilled potter,
the maker of vessels
for the stuff of life
for water and grain
for wine and for keeping
precious things of life

May we be vessels
for the precious things of life,
useful for the potter,
for our fellow man
for the world over which
we share dominion
in our time

May we hold and pour out
love and hope and justice
for all the people of the earth
for the environment
now and forever

Mindful of the footprints
we leave behind
in all we do, all we use
the legacy we leave
on the earth
and in the hearts
of our fellow citizens
of this good earth
