We are to guard the good treasure
the gift of faith handed down to us
by those faithful who went before us
those living their faith; those who have
stayed true to their faith and brought us
to the word, the saving word of God
Keep true to these lessons, these truths
these gifts shared with us
Hold tight to the living faith
within our hearts, mindful always
of the dangers in the world,
that caused the need for Your sacrifice
in the first place
