Oh how fitting, a lectionary story caught in the summer months, hot and harsh for ripe summer fruit ripening even after picking, turning quickly to overripe fruit So were the people, too quick to turn from the people of God, set apart, to the ways of the earth, to using others, to greed, corruption, to spoil in the sun rather than spreading the light. We are luckier than these, because we have seen the true harvest the bounty for us. Let us be the ripened summer fruit reaped for the good works to share our bounty, our message of love
