Silence was the Remedy by Raymond A. Foss
Not a punishment, not in so many words that wasn’t what Gabriel had in mind, not in this case, unbelief was the problem silence was the remedy. Think of the change in a life of speaking of preaching, of counsel, of verbal service now having to listen, to think, to write everything down, to say in writing what was verbalized before; but not punishment, not disability, this was a gift, a grafting of gifts together, providing grace for insight, for reflection, for listening for deeper meanings, messages preparing him to speak in wondrous ways, to speak a prophecy of saving for the whole people made more profound by his silence
