Capturing an image on the pane of film
burned by the shutter release
aperture and speed
snap, frozen
really a moment, a snip,
an instant of time
captured there, forever
for it isn’t the image, that’s the thing
it’s the singular, the unique
frame of time
preserved forever
in the thin slice
the media
on the emulsion
