Two Fish by Raymond A. Foss
Two fish Under the spell Of the fisherman.
One in the bucket One on the line, Hook deep into flesh.
Which one to eat - Undecided. Not ready to throw One back or Release the other.
The fish bolts on the line Pull out for open water. She reels the thread Back to her side.
Thin line, easily broken Hangs from its mouth. Hook chafes and bleeds Waiting to be landed Or released.
Will the fisherman decide Or will the fish bite the cord And roam free?
