Words of heart and hope shared and pondered as brothers and sisters in praise and prayer tonight
Our church owning our commitment to God and one another Remembering Joshua’s challenge and higher stakes; we are judged by our own utterances
11/6/05 19:20 Inspired by the scripture reading at Sunday night’s Rejuvenation contemporary worship service at Wesley United Methodist Church, Concord, NH – Joshua 24:1-3a,14-25. Our worship leader had us break up into groups and write out covenants. I wrote this poem during the service, immediately after this exercise. Three of the ones that groups came up with are: - “We promise to be aware of others needs, to pray for them, to use the individual gifts God has given us, to try to treasure each moment, to contribute our time to others, and to be active in the life of a community of faith.” - “In faithfulness we will listen to you and keep our hearts open before you; receiving you grace and proclaiming Jesus Christ. We will commit all of our works to the building of your kingdom.” - “We commit that everyday we will take time to be thankful, mindful and reflective of what have/God’s gifts.”
