Studio Composition by Joseph Mayo Wristen
Cup of Words

Crystal sphere sitting
Before child like statue
Words of Lennon mixed
In a clay Klee fish bowl
Like a dog in a manger
Caravan of gypsies
Traveling from city to city
Verse of reconciliation a
Prophet’s candle burning
Under lilted stars there are
No predictions here no
Symbol’s of insight only
Images left in a secret life

A verse of words from a secret life

Cup of Words

Part I.

Journey taken under a universal Flag

Guitar amplified notes across
Planted wooden field stem cable
Picture of a naked woman
Bus ride to your Prankster’s painted bridge
An opium bath, Jesus’ walk across
River’s sage, mystic horn stories
Dressed in stitched hemlock, his
Daughter dressed in lace, handing
Out underground letters on the
Corner of 40th street and conspiracy

Waiting to understand love’s gift
Meditation on the Master’s omen

Living on the hillside facing the sun
Ink fading across Hollywood promises

French monastery, tear of blood
Falling from our Savior’s eye
Search for a doorway leading
To another world, song of the reed
Written under sidewalk pop poster
Living outside reality, ghost
Templar child playing under
Robin morning light, Times
Portrait leaving us the fallen
Colors of our history branches

Journey taken under a universal Flag

Part II.

Evening at Bedford Street Cabin

Standing under muse star tea
Cup sky roof, watching out from
An umbrella glass, his country face
Insights scared by death
Maya spirit, drift incense, smoke
Hidden between desk clock walls
The flame from the fireplace slowly
Burning, table cloth visions of engine
Sails, feathered tribes changing
The way, we say our good-bye’s

An army marching to beat forest

Green notes crossing the streets of

Rag secret wine café cellar story, his

Smoke pipe message hanging under

Owl cat predictions of pentagon
Bliss, Lion dying in the darkness
Morning Lark reaching out to
An image of one of God’s Angels
In a fading mist Thoreau’s image
Walking down porch oak steps
To ceremonial road leading beyond
No where, man reaching out to the
Fruit of life, our union found
In the understanding nature’s beauty

Evening at Bedford Street Cabin

Part III.

A Hawk soaring over a field of Mice

Three Seagulls scratching a sign
Into the sand, a twilight visitation
Shadows over Morrison’s hotel
A spirit waiting under street light
Field, driftwood fires changing
Day to night, then night back to day
Bones of a poet scattered across
One thousand three hundred and seven
Painted Milk Wood roof tops,
Dust falling under a cigarette
Royal Sun, the crucifixion of Mary

Broom of straw, fowl knight’s rage,

Witch’s robe, theories of the scholar

Tied to a cup, throne Barley weed

Cast over a painted Isle shore picture

Traitor of calm living behind a
Picket fence, interposition of the
Teachers voice, old man Peaches
Riding his bicycle down Palm street,
Yoko Ono’s sheet of love, Pearl
Motor memories, Ginsberg’s
Score, a call from the year 2032 AD,
Voice over the phone telling us
About a river of tar spilling into times
Sea of Hope changing child’s dream

A Hawk soaring over a field of Mice
